Anchor Mission has a history of serving the local community and beyond for over a 100 years. in 1982, 'Anchor Mission' became a fully independent self governing fellowship and a member church of the Congregational Federation and took on the name 'Anchor Centre'.  Donald Bell led the team for the first two years and in 1984, Stephen Haward became Anchor's full-time Minister working jointly with other team members. The most significant change effected by the team was to launch an all-age morning worship every week.
